Who we are
FarmConnect is run by Kalpasiri Farms and Foods Pvt Ltd ("FarmConnect", "we", "us"). This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use the FarmConnect app to order from us in Bengaluru.
This website has no sign-in and no tracking, and sets no cookies of its own. If you write to us through its contact form, we receive your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message by email, so we can reply to you; the website keeps no copy.
What we collect
- Your mobile number, which is how you sign in: we text you a one-time code to confirm it is yours.
- Your name and, if you give it, your email address.
- Your delivery addresses: flat or house number, building, floor, street, area, landmark, pincode and city, the spot you pin on the map, a receiver’s name and phone number if you add them, and delivery instructions for the person delivering.
- Your orders: what you ordered, prices, coupons, the delivery day and address, and each order’s progress.
- Payments and your wallet: for each payment we keep its reference, amount, status and the kind of method used (for example UPI or card). Your card, UPI and bank details are entered with Razorpay, our payment provider, and never stored by us. Every wallet top-up, spend and refund is recorded.
- Support conversations: the messages you send us through Help in the app, our replies, and notes our team keeps about your requests.
- Notifications: your notification settings, the messages in your in-app inbox and, if you allow push notifications, your phone’s push token with the app version, platform, language and time zone.
- Your location, only when you tap “Use current location” while adding an address: the app reads it once to place the map pin. We keep only the pin of the address you save.
- App usage, if “Share app usage” is on: app opens, sessions, screens viewed and steps towards checkout. These events go to our own servers (no outside analytics service) and are linked to your app installation and, while you are signed in, to your account.
- Crash reports: when the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, a technical report (device model, operating system, app version and what the app was doing) is sent to Sentry. Reports are filtered to remove phone numbers, email addresses, codes and tokens, and never name you.
- Sign-in records: when codes were requested and from which IP address, and the sessions you are signed in with.
Why we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To check that we deliver to your address, take your orders, pack them and deliver them.
- To take payments, run your wallet and send refunds.
- To answer your questions and complaints.
- To send order, payment, wallet and support updates and, only if you turn on offers, news about our products.
- To understand how the app is used and fix problems, from app usage (if you allow it) and crash reports.
- To prevent misuse, and to keep the records the law asks of us for tax and accounting.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the providers below, who handle it for us, or when the law requires it.
Who helps us handle it
- Amazon Web Services (AWS), in its Mumbai region: runs our servers, database and file storage, sends the sign-in codes by SMS, passes push notifications on to Google (Amazon SNS), and emails messages from the website’s contact form to our team (Amazon SES).
- Razorpay: takes online payments and wallet top-ups, and sends refunds back to your payment method.
- Google: Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers push notifications to your phone. Where the app shows a map, Google Maps draws it, and the address search and the naming of the spot you pin go to Google Maps Platform through our servers.
- Zendesk: the help desk our team can use to answer support conversations. When it is in use, your name and your support conversations are copied there; your phone number and email are not.
- Sentry: receives the crash reports described above.
- Cloudflare: Turnstile checks that a message sent through the website’s contact form comes from a person and not a program. It sees your browser and IP address while the form is open.
Your account and order data is stored in India (AWS Mumbai). Some of these providers may process the information they handle for us outside India.
How long we keep it
- App usage events: 90 days.
- Messages from the website’s contact form: in our team’s email for as long as we need them to answer you. To stop repeated sending, we count attempts from each IP address, kept only in scrambled form and deleted within a few days.
- Messages in your in-app inbox: 180 days. Records of when a push notification reached your phone or was opened: 90 days.
- Your phone’s push token: deleted 30 days after you sign out on that phone or the token stops working.
- Changes to your notification settings: 2 years, as a record of what you agreed to.
- Your account, addresses, orders, payments, wallet and support conversations: while your account is open, and afterwards for as long as we need them for orders, refunds, tax and accounting, and to settle disputes.
Your choices
- Notifications: choose what we send in Account → Notification settings, or turn push notifications off in your phone’s settings. Offers are off until you turn them on.
- App usage: turn “Share app usage” off in Account at any time; the app then stops collecting usage events and clears the ones it has not sent yet.
- Location: the app asks for it only when you tap “Use current location”; you can always type the address instead.
- Your details: update your name, email and addresses in the app. Write to us to see or correct anything else we hold about you.
- Deleting your account: request it in Account. Your account stays usable for 30 days and you can cancel the request in that time. After that it is deleted automatically once your orders and refunds are settled. Any wallet balance left is forfeited. Records we must keep for tax and accounting are kept as described above.
Keeping it safe
The app talks to our servers over encrypted connections. Sign-in codes are stored only in scrambled form, your sign-in is kept in your phone’s secure storage, and only the members of our team who need your information for their work can see it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top of this page, and we tell you in the app about any important change.
